Organic is still hot at HomeGoods
One of my go to resources for picking up trending accessories is HomeGoods. When staging and creating model homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area, I would make a day of it and drive every HomeGoods store within an hour and a half! Each store would have it's own personality depending on location. Higher end neighborhoods generally usually were a better source for the look I was seeking and had the most inventory to choose from.
While in Brighton UK this past spring, I also shopped the UK sister store, Home Sense. Very little furniture and rugs, but a nice selection of the accessories, lamps, pillow and bedding I've come to expect. I could see it was every bit as popular as the stateside version!
On a recent trip to my local Home Goods here in Denver, I found some chic accessories that wouldn't have been out of place at Pottery Barn. The organic and coastal theme is still hot and I'm still a fan. I love natural textures and soft colors. They never go out of style and you're much less likely to grow tired of a look that echoes the outdoors, right?
My suggestion? Go big. One big accessory, such as the 15" wide faux coral below, is going to make a much bigger impact in your room than multiple small shells would.
To create a similar affect, you could group shells in one large container. This large wood and glass case was another great find. You could easily add big shells or driftwood inside for a great display, or fill it with a natural looking faux plant for effortless greenery. Putting some real plants around it will add to the illusion!
These rustic looking wood stands are also perfect for display. You could stack one on top of a side table to add height. Then try adding a plant or something like the large faux coral to create a focal point. Have fun arranging your organic pieces until you're happy with how it looks. Keep in mind, adding height with at least one of your accessories like a case or these stands, will make your focal point pop!
If you want a splash of bold color, you can keep still stay organic. Take these pots for example. Although they can be used outside, they would also look great on top of your wooden stand, filled with either a faux or real plant. They add to the great texture you're building with the rustic looking wood and complement your natural vibe.
HomeGoods is also great just for inspiration as their buyers are always shopping trends and markets all over the world. Happy browsing!
